RBFCU Gives Record-Breaking $11.5 Million in Debit Card Rewards to its Members
LIVE OAK, Texas (Feb. 7, 2017) — In the 10th year of the cash back rewards debit card program, Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union set a record, depositing more than $11.5 million in cash back based on member's debit card usage in 2016.
Members received 10 cents cash back on every purchase made with their debit cards from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2016, resulting in the largest cash back deposit in the credit union's history. The debit card program continues to grow in popularity, as there are no fees or charges attached to a member's ability to earn cash back.
The rewards were given to members to kick off RBFCU's annual participation in Random Acts of Kindness Week, beginning Feb. 12, during which the credit union provides donations, gifts and support to members and charitable organizations throughout Central Texas.
"We know the importance of giving back to our community," said Mary O'Rourke, executive vice president and chief of staff at RBFCU. "Every year RBFCU continues to grow by leaps and bounds, giving us the opportunity to invest back into our members and the communities we serve."
Including this distribution, RBFCU has given member's more than $70 million in debit card cash back since the program began in 2007.
