RBFCU Statement on Dec. 30, 2020 System Issues

LIVE OAK, Texas (Dec. 31, 2020) — On Wednesday, Dec. 30, RBFCU experienced a significant increase in member activity in our Online Banking and RBFCU Mobile app platforms, as well telephone calls to our Member Service Center, causing major delays to our systems. This was, in part, due to the issuance of the federal government’s Economic Impact Payments (COVID relief). This increase in activity and calls placed heightened demand on our systems and slowed responses from our credit union to members.

RBFCU wants to thank our membership for their patience as we worked through the issues. We want to remind all members that their accounts are secure, and a temporary slowdown in digital and telephone communications does not affect the safety of member accounts or funds. As a reminder, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) guarantees each member deposit account up to $250,000.
