Cimarron Location Christens RBFCU Branch Network in Corpus Christi

LIVE OAK, Texas (Oct. 29, 2018) — RBFCU members who live in Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend region now have more access to their credit union with the opening of the Cimarron Branch, RBFCU’s first location in Nueces County. Corpus Christi now joins an RBFCU branch-location area that includes Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio. It is the 58th RBFCU branch.

“We know that residents of Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend place great value in a credit union membership, and they know how a credit union can help improve their economic well-being and quality of life,” RBFCU Senior Vice President of Branch Operations Sarah O’Brien said. “We’re confident that RBFCU’s highly rated member service and products will be a great match for this community. In just a few months, RBFCU will open another branch location on South Staples Street near South Padre Island Drive (Texas State Highway 358).

Mrs. O’Brien is overseeing all operations in Corpus Christi. She counts more than 30 years of executive management experience in the credit union industry, most recently serving as president and CEO at Navy Army Community Credit Union in Corpus Christi.

“With her extensive knowledge of the Corpus Christi market, as well as branch operations, expansion and credit union management, we’re excited to see Sarah in charge of all our operations in this new region for our credit union,” RBFCU President and Chief Executive Officer Christopher O’Connor said. “Our RBFCU members in the Coastal Bend have been looking forward to this, and it’s assuring to know Sarah is there with her expertise and insight as we have embarked on this new adventure.

Since 1952, RBFCU has predominately served the San Antonio market, entering the Austin market in 1995, and most recently the Dallas market in 2014. It is currently the second largest credit union in Texas, and just moved up one spot to 12th largest in the United States.
