RBFCU Answers Call to Benefit Texas Flooding Relief

LIVE OAK, Texas (July 11, 2025) — Our partnerships with major television outlets allow RBFCU to quickly answer the call and Go Beyond Banking when the community needs helping hands. That’s literally what happened this week when WFAA-TV in Dallas needed assistance in accepting donations through a phone bank for the TEGNA Texas Flood Relief Fund (TEGNA is WFAA’s parent company).

Nine team members from North Texas were on the phones, and their enthusiasm personified RBFCU’s belief in people helping people. They answered incoming calls and helped record pledges. This phone bank and another that TEGNA conducted in Houston accepted pledges of more than $104,000 that will go to the Community Foundation of Texas to distribute to nonprofits assisting in this effort.

Independent of this phone bank, RBFCU has pledged a $100,000 donation to support the Central Texas flood relief efforts. From this amount, $25,000 will be donated to each of these agencies: Cross Kingdom Church, Kerr County Flood Relief, Texas Search and Rescue and The Salvation Army.

Not only was WFAA engaging with viewers in North Texas for the phone bank, other TEGNA stations located in RBFCU territory at Austin (KVUE), Corpus Christi (KIII) and San Antonio (KENS) promoted direct contributions to the Central Texas flood relief fund could be made.

More opportunities to contribute continue develop as RBFCU helps members and the community throughout Central Texas. RBFCU’s Kerrville Branch will be accepting donations of clothes and other essential items for an extended period, and they’ll work with Business Development to see that everything gets to The Salvation Army’s KROC Center.
