Food Pantries at UTSA and Texas State Win with RBFCU’s Help
LIVE OAK, Texas (May 1, 2025) — RBFCU’s involvement in the Huddle Against Hunger – a community assistance project that has blossomed around the UTSA-Texas State football rivalry during the fall – has helped to generate a great response at both campuses. RBFCU split a donation of $25,000 between the food pantries at both schools last year, which has been a great help in making food available for students who need it.
You can learn more about this assistance at UTSA and Texas State. At UTSA in the past year, the Roadrunner Pantry has distributed more than 104,000 pounds of food to hundreds of students. Texas State raised $51,467 and welcomed 1,115 donors to the challenge. Almost immediately after the campaign ended, the Bobcat Bounty pantry experienced its busiest distribution in history, serving over 300 shoppers -- more than 100 more than the previous record.
