RBFCU Gives $12.9 Million in Debit Card Rewards to its Members 2017

LIVE OAK, Texas (Feb. 8, 2018) — Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union set a record, depositing more than $12.9 million in cash-back rewards to its members, based on debit card usage in 2017.

Members received 10 cents cash back on every purchase made with their debit cards from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, resulting in the largest cash-back deposit in the credit union’s history.

The debit card program continues to grow in popularity, as there are no fees or charges attached to a member’s ability to earn cash back.

Along with debit card rewards, RBFCU gave back $3.2 million in rewards in November to its members who used their Mastercard credit cards. In total, the credit union gave back more than $16 million to its members for 2017.

“While other financial institutions are tacking on costly fees to checking accounts, RBFCU is giving money back to its members,” said Mary O’Rourke, executive vice president and chief of staff at RBFCU. “Our members trust us with their financial needs, and we’re happy to show our appreciation for their loyalty.”

Including this distribution, RBFCU has given members more than $86 million in cash-back rewards since the program began in 2007.
