RBFCU Says ‘Thank You!’ on First Responders Day

LIVE OAK, Texas (Oct. 28, 2019) — Employees from RBFCU’s branch locations visited their local police and fire departments on Oct. 28 as the credit union extended a “thank you” on National First Responders Day to all of those who serve us and work to keep us safe.

“We know that we could not do our work safely, and we could not maintain a secure environment for our members, without the support and readiness of first responders,” RBFCU Senior Vice President of San Antonio/Corpus Christi Operations Sarah O’Brien said. “Combined with our expert Securities and Facilities Department, the first responders in our communities actively provide a professional presence that is vital to our operations and is of great benefit to our members.”

RBFCU employees worked in teams to have someone visiting with first responders throughout the day, with more than 40 police or fire stations visited in each of RBFCU’s markets in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio.

The branch managers and their staffs showed the credit union’s appreciation by presenting all sorts of “goodie” items — tacos, cupcakes, cookies and bags filled with other helpful articles — along with handwritten cards to thank our police, firefighters and emergency medical technicians for everything they do.

“They never hesitate to provide their assistance and always respond at a moment’s notice,” Mrs. O’Brien said. “Thank you!”
