RBFCU Donations Add Up in Corporate Cup
LIVE OAK, Texas (May 9, 2024) — When given a chance to make a contribution toward our communities, RBFCU employees always step up. As our Corporate Cup Charity Challenge contribution tallies were recorded this week, it showed that our credit union puts giving back in action.
Our challenge was to bring or Distro items to the San Antonio headquarters as requested by San Antonio Food Bank, the Boys & Girls Club and Haven for Hope. Additionally, we donated to South Texas Blood & Tissue.
It added up to 671 pounds donated to the San Antonio Food Bank. And 26 units of blood were donated, which South Texas Blood & Tissue informs us can potentially save 78 lives. That's great! The other categories, while they require a little explanation, show we got involved.
In the Corporate Cup Charity Challenge, our contribution to Haven for Hope accounted for 190 points. For the Boys & Girls Club it was 425 points. At Boys & Girls Club, contributions were awarded from 1 to 5 points on items ranging from construction paper, facial tissue and wipes to sensory toys. Haven for Hope took donations mostly for new under garments and awarded up to 5 points on items.
