Are you approaching your 65th birthday — or older?

A Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan can help to pay some costs not covered by Medicare, such as copayments, coinsurance and deductibles.

Let your local, licensed insurance agents help you explore your options, whether you’re newly eligible to enroll or are preparing for the next annual Medicare Open Enrollment Period which is October 15 – December 7.

Title document

As we grow older, the costs of health care continue to rise — making long-term care insurance a potentially wise investment in yourself.

Should you suffer an illness, disability or a debilitating disease such as Alzheimer’s, this type of coverage can help not only cover those costs but also stretch your retirement dollars.

Schedule an appointment with a financial advisor to learn more about long-term care insurance policies offered through RBFCU Investments Group.

Shield

Whatever your age, with the right whole or term life insurance coverage in place, you may be able to protect your family financially for years to come.

Or, if you prefer, you can name a friend, charity or non-profit organization as your beneficiary.

The choice is yours.

Again, an appointment with an RBFCU Investments Group financial advisor is a great place to start exploring coverage.

  • When can I purchase a Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan?
    + -

You can buy a Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) Plan any time after you turn 65 and join Medicare Part B. If you enroll in an insurance plan during your Medicare Open Enrollment Period, the first 6 months your Part B is active, your medical history is not considered in setting your premium.

  • How do I sign up for a Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan?
    + -

For more information on how to join, contact 1-833-291-1309.

  • Can I make changes to my Medicare Supplement Insurance coverage?
    + -

You can drop your policy and apply for another Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan at any time. However, after your Medicare Open Enrollment Period ends, insurers can refuse coverage or charge you a higher premium based on your health and/or make you wait to get coverage for an existing illness.

  • How can I obtain a copy of 'Medicare & You,' the official guide to Medicare?
    + -

The “Medicare and You” handbook is printed and mailed to all Medicare-eligible households in late September each year. You can, however, download or request replacement copies in different formats and languages via the Medicare.gov website.

  • Do I need Original Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan if I have coverage through the VA?
    + -

The VA encourages individuals with VA health care benefits to sign up for Medicare as soon as you can (e.g., when you turn 65) for several important reasons. Our local, licensed insurance agents are well-versed in this and other Medicare topics and they can answer your specific questions. Schedule your no-cost, no-obligation appointment to speak with them today.

  • I like my current Medicare Advantage plan. Do you have tips on making the most of it?
    + -

To be sure you’re getting the most from your Medicare Advantage plan, there are a few things you can do. Review changes to your additional benefits each year, as in some years, costs may increase or decrease or there may be changes to which providers the plan partners with for those services. Check to see if your plan offers a rewards program offering incentives for things you’re doing already (e.g., attending your annual wellness exam). Additionally, learn if your plan offers fitness benefits (e.g., gym memberships or exercise equipment) and/or over-the-counter benefits that provide an allowance for use in their online store or in your local pharmacy for over-the-counter vitamins and medications.
