RBFCU Promotes Russell-Evans to Vice President, General Counsel
LIVE OAK, Texas (Oct. 3, 2016) — Vanessa Russell-Evans was recently named general counsel and vice president of legal services for Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU). Russell-Evans joined the credit union in 2013 and most recently served as assistant vice president and associate general counsel.
In her new position, Russell-Evans will act as chief attorney for the credit union, as well as expand her responsibilities to oversee the legal services department. Prior to joining RBFCU, Russell-Evans was an associate attorney for Strasburger & Price, LLP and the former Cox Smith Matthews, Inc.
“Vanessa brings a wealth of legal experience, from corporate, securities, real estate to finance practice, which has prepared her for this new position,” said Robert Zearfoss, chief financial officer. “Her knowledge is invaluable to helping RBFCU achieve success and continue our mission of improving our members' economic well-being and quality of life.”
In addition to her work at the credit union, Russell-Evans is also a member of the Texas Bar Association, Bexar County Women's Bar Association, San Antonio Young Lawyers Association and the co-founder of the non-profit organization, Moms-in-Law San Antonio. Russell-Evans holds a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, and a B.A. in government and B.J. in broadcast news journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
