LIVE OAK, Texas - Sonya McDonald has been named Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff for Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU). McDonald has been a member of the RBFCU leadership team for more than 10 years, and most recently led the planning and market development team.

In her new position as EVP/Chief of Staff, McDonald will be responsible for marketing/communications, business development, planning and strategic development, human resources, legal services, political action, internal audit and risk management.

According to President/CEO Chris O'Connor, McDonald's experience and success in the credit union and the industry have thoroughly prepared her for this new position. “Sonya has had a long history of successfully managing various departments and projects for the credit union. Because of these successes, I am confident in her ability to take on these additional responsibilities,” O'Connor said.

McDonald began her career in financial marketing and analysis after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. She has worked in a variety of different credit unions and financial organizations nationally, and began her career at RBFCU as vice president of sales.

McDonald is the credit union's first female executive vice president. She was named to the San Antonio Business Journal's "40 under 40" list and is a recipient of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for her fundraising efforts on behalf of Fisher House and Returning Heroes Home, both of which serve military veterans and Wounded Warriors.
