RBFCU RANKED IN TOP TEN BY SNL FINANCIAL

LIVE OAK, Texas – SNL Financial, an independent financial ratings company, recently ranked Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union among the top ten best performing credit unions in the nation. Their methodology included six core areas of performance focusing on profitability, asset quality and growth.

Credit unions included in the analysis had total assets greater than $500 million as of March 31 and had to be well-capitalized with a net worth ratio of at least 7.0%. Based on these criteria, 400 credit unions were eligible for the ranking. RBFCU earned the eighth overall ranking based on SNL's criteria. Texas credit unions had a strong showing overall, with eight institutions ranked in SNL's top 50.

While RBFCU's ranking would be impressive at any time, credit union leaders note the success indicated by maintaining security and stability amid tremendous growth. “During the past five years, we've welcomed more than 100,000 new members and exceeded $3 billion in loans and $5 billion in assets,” said Randy M. Smith, CEO of RBFCU. “Our Board of directors and staff are focused on serving our members. This approach in in turn benefits the credit union, because members show their appreciation by sharing their RBFCU experience with their friends and neighbors.”

The credit union has received high rankings across the board from independent financial regulators. For example, RBFCU has received a superior ranking from Bauer Financial for 87 consecutive quarters, has been ranked the top credit union among those with more than $2 billion in assets by IDC Financial Publishing and has received A+ recognition from Weiss Ratings.

“While the ratings give us confirmation that we're serving our members well, the strongest confirmation of our success is the number of new members and new loan applications that continue to flow in,” Smith said.
