RBFCU Receives Lender of the Year Award
(Live Oak, Texas) – The United States Small Business Administration (SBA) will be honoring Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU) as the SBA Credit Union Lender of the Year during National Small Business Week, held in Washington, D.C. May 17-19, 2009.
RBFCU Business Services Lending Manager, Kenan Pankau, will be in Washington to accept the award on behalf of the credit union. "Kenan deserves to be the one accepting this award. Because of his diligent efforts, we have been the top credit union SBA producer in Texas for the last two years," said Mark Sekula, RBFCU Business Services Senior Vice President.
During his stay, Pankau will have the honor of attending a panel meeting at the White House, where he will be greeted by President Barack Obama to discuss the current financial climate.
RBFCU has emerged as a top SBA lender in a relatively short time. After receiving their SBA Express Lender status, the RBFCU Business Services Team began offering SBA loans in 2006. "We realized that the wide variety of SBA lending programs would be a great opportunity to help out the business owners and startups that may be passed on by some of the larger business lenders. It's very fulfilling knowing that we can help people make their great ideas a reality," said Pankau. The SBA Express Lending program was established to encourage lenders to make smaller SBA loans.
"We believe in the SBA lending programs because they provide jobs, new ideas and innovation which can spur economic sectors for decades," said Randy Smith, RBFCU President and CEO. "When small business succeeds, the economy grows."
