RBFCU Expands Online Services

(Live Oak, Texas) – Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU) recently enhanced its web site to include a membership qualification and online account opening process, and introduced eDeposits, which allows members to save time by scanning and depositing their checks online.

"We've really made NetBranch, our web site, a more full-service branch," said Jim Minge, senior vice president, Member Services. "We've enjoyed hearing the positive feedback from those members who really appreciate the convenience of making deposits from their home or office," he continued. In most cases, members are not required to mail in their checks and the funds they deposit to their savings or checking accounts are available the next business day. Since the launch of the new service in late January, 6,500 users have registered for RBFCU's eDeposits.

With the online account opening process, potential members can quickly discover how they qualify for membership and, within about 15 minutes, open and fund their new RBFCU savings and checking accounts. Once accounts are opened, they can begin using other online account management services including ePay, eStatements and mBranch.

"We've seen our number of online applicants increase monthly since this new method of joining became available last December," said Mary O'Rourke, assistant vice president and project leader. "In fact, we are now averaging 14 new members a day via this membership channel. These new members really appreciate that we are helping them save time and money by letting them qualify, join and fund their accounts from anywhere they have Internet access."

The new online account opening process and eDeposits service were implemented as part of RBFCU's long-term strategy to provide members the best of both worlds when conducting their financial business; a robust offering of convenient online account services in addition to 30 professionally-staffed branch locations that allow for the personalized, face-to-face customer service experience that members have come to expect from RBFCU.

RBFCU was organized by nine individuals on Randolph Air Force Base in 1952 as a not-for-profit financial cooperative. After 56 years, Randolph-Brooks serves its more than 285,000 members from 30 branches throughout South Central Texas.
