RBFCU Announces Expansion into Dallas

Breaks ground on locations in Plano, Frisco and Allen

LIVE OAK, Texas - Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU) is expanding into the Dallas market, and has broken ground on its first branch locations in Plano, Frisco and Allen. The branches are scheduled to open by the end of the year. The credit union, which has experienced rapid growth during the past several years, began as a military service credit union and has expanded to serve members and select groups throughout the San Antonio and Austin metropolitan areas.

Credit union leaders made the decision to expand into the Dallas area, beginning with Collin County, based on thorough market research. According to President/CEO Christopher W. O'Connor, RBFCU saw an opportunity to provide affordable financial products and services to a market area that continues to experience growth year over year. "This next step into Dallas is an exciting one for RBFCU," O'Connor said. "Our expansion to Austin proved that our products have broad appeal and that we have opportunities to provide savings and value to more members in new areas of Texas."

While RBFCU was founded in 1952 at Randolph Air Force Base near San Antonio, Texas, the credit union expanded to Austin in 1995. During the past five years, the credit union's membership has grown by 60 percent to 450,000 members, and our assets have grown by more than 75 percent.

Currently, RBFCU has 47 branches that span from South San Antonio to North Austin, and everywhere in between. Over the next five years, RBFCU plans to add multiple branches in the Collin County area and create numerous jobs.
