Remember to always enclose a cover letter when sending out a resume. A cover letter should be typed, signed and directed to the proper person at the company. It should be brief, one page, and follow the general guidelines listed below.
- Your opening paragraph should pique the reader's interest and explain which position you are interested in.
- Your middle paragraphs should detail your background. Be specific about the type of work/position you are interested in, giving examples from your work and/or educational experience that relate.
- In your closing, indicate your desire for a personal interview, and let them know how best to reach you.
