The RBFCU Healing Heroes Challenge

Healing Heroes Challenge Imagine relearning how to walk, where every step is a challenge and even the slight switch from grass to gravel can upset your progress. It's something most of us take for granted and probably rarely notice, but for some recuperating military veterans, that step is just a tiny symbol of the challenges they face each day.

That's where the Warrior and Family Support Center comes in. The WFSC provides a homelike atmosphere and a place of healing for veterans and their families. While the WFSC currently provides both physical and emotional support to veterans, they need additional funds to complete the Therapeutic Garden and Recreation Area, an area designed for physical therapy and rehabilitation. Lt. Larkin O'Hern can testify to the importance of facilities such as the WSFC to serve returning military. Lt. O'Hern is one of the men who will benefit from the completion of the Center. Although he lost both legs while serving in Afghanistan last year, Lt. O'Hern is determined to not just learn to walk the trails at the WFSC but to one day run them.

Will you help us serve our wounded warriors, valiant leaders like Lt. O'Hern, by making a contribution? RBFCU has pledged $100,000 to the completion of the Therapeutic Garden and Recreation Area and we plan to match all contributions made (up to an additional $150,000) through the end of the year.

Contributing to the Warrior and Family Support Center is quick, convenient and easy. Simply visit ReturningHeroesHome.org to make an online contribution and RBFCU will match your gift dollar for dollar. Your gift will make a big difference in the lives of these military heroes and their families as they rehabilitate and heal.
